Herman is not a typical English trainer. He spent 7 years working as a professional engineer in California — at the California Department of Transportation and in the private sector — before returning to Indonesia to build a remarkable corporate career.
As former General Manager at ACE Hardware Indonesia and Construction Manager at PT. Citas Otis Elevator, and having run his own businesses — restaurants in Cibubur, retail shops in Kelapa Gading, and a footwear supply company serving Ramayana department stores — Herman has spent decades communicating with international partners, leading teams, and navigating real business challenges in both Indonesia and the United States.
He founded SimplyEnglish after seeing firsthand how talented Indonesian professionals were being held back — not by lack of skill, but by the inability to express that skill confidently in English. He teaches from 30+ years of lived experience. Not from a textbook.
